Lawrence was born in Canora, SK to Nick and Mabel Stushnoff. He attended school at Devils Lake and Canora until studying to be an electrician at Moose Jaw Technical. In 1967 Lawrence moved to Thompson, MB where he worked at the INCO Nickel Mine for 32 years.
In 1965, he met the love of his life, Margaret Ruth Budden. They married in March 1970. Thompson was their home for 53 years until retiring to Saskatoon in 2023.
Lawrence is survived by his wife Margaret; his brother Stan (Heather) and their sons Nicholas (Erica) and Gregory (Megan); sisters-in-law Barbara Valenta (Mark), Adrienne (Jim), and Vi Hawkins; brothers-in-law George Budden (Margaret); as well as several nephews and nieces. Niece Denise Jordan (Jimmy) was a special person in his life.
Lawrence was hardworking, generous and loyal to a fault. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing pool and watching sports on television.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Diabetes, Kidney and Heart Foundations or to a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Lawrence’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel (915 Acadia Drive).
