Louis was 89 years old at the time of his death. Louis died Wednesday, January 3rd at 12:11 p.m. Louis was the son of St. Pierre Arcand and Lottie Gray.
After Mushum, St. Pierre died in 1960; Louis and his mom Lottie moved to Manitoba. There, Louis married Margaret. After Margaret passed, he moved back to Saskatchewan and settled in Delmas, SK with his second wife, Marie Bidyk. Louis was accepted into the family and was called “Poppa Louis”. He now had the family he had craved. Marie's family have shown Louis unconditional love and support since her death in 2013.
Louis suffered from Alzheimer's in his last few years of life. He was always a happy soul, singing or humming and always greeted you with a smile. You always felt welcomed and special when you were in his company. He was a wealth of information about his younger years and stories of his father's life as a young boy growing up in the Batoche area.
Another history book closes.
