Mrs. Margaret Marie Lucille Cuthbert

Margaret Cuthbert passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 04 October 2022 at the age of 92.

Margaret was born and spent her formative years in central Manitoba. She moved to Saskatoon to further her nursing career, and met and married Maurice, her husband of 42 years, in 1955. She retired from the Royal University Hospital in 1993, winding-up a 38 year career.

Margaret was an avid bowler, sports shooter and golfer. When not participating in these activities, she made an excellent cheerleader for her grandchildren. Many a night would find her at the ball diamonds or hockey rinks emphatically voicing her opinions of the referees and plays. Always one with a bingo dabber at the ready, she enjoyed many hours playing the game or volunteering on behalf of her grandchildren’s sport teams. Her creative outlet was evident in the beautiful cross stitch arrangements that she did over the years. Cards were a passion and many a boisterous hour were spent playing with friends and family. Being a fairly competitive person, if she couldn’t win the proper way she would try to win ‘the Margaret way’! If not glued to the golf channel, British comedies were her next favourite. The quirky humour of the "Carry On Gang" or "Are You Being Served" always led to great bouts of laughter. If her eyelids were closed, one dared not change the channel as ‘she was watching that’! Always found with a book near at hand, she was a ravenous reader and crossword enthusiast right up to the end.

Just like her original blend, two cream, no sugar…she will be missed.

Margaret leaves to mourn her son Tim (Brenda) and daughter Jane Bekus (Stan); her five grandchildren Brenden (Jacquie), Bobbie Tsinkorang (Kofi), Evan Bekus (Stephanie), Michelle Sutcliffe (Shayne). Josh Howie (Alicia); and five great-grandchildren Aislyn, Alexa, Kendrix, Beckett and Leon.

She is predeceased by her husband Maurice, son Barry, and daughter Joan Howie.

Per Margaret’s wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, have a cup of coffee or play a game of cards in her memory.
