On September 30, 2025 Mike passed away, peacefully with his wife of 60 years by his side. Born in 1942 in Renfrew, Ontario, Mike was predeceased by his parents, brother, life-long friends and relatives.
Michael graduated from KAS and found employment with Ag Canada as an inspector in various locations across Canada including Ottawa, Toronto, and Winnipeg. In 1965, Mike and Connie (nee Gibbons) were married and were subsequently blessed with Rob and Karen. In 1974, the family moved to Saskatoon where Mike was hired to establish the Saskatchewan Sheep and Wool Marketing Commission. 1981 saw a change of careers and a launching of Connie and Mike’s agribusinesses Alpine Agro Ltd. followed by Greenline Enterprises.
After retiring in 2010, Mike and Connie had the time and energy to do some travelling with trips to Hawaii, Portugal, the Maritimes and Newfoundland and Labrador. Along with the traveling and cruises Mike enjoyed golfing and curling. Nothing however was closer to his heart than to have his grandchildren out at the acreage with him.
Mike’s last years were marked by dementia, when he was no longer able to be at the acreage he received excellent care by the staff at Luther Special Care Home. For that his family is very grateful.
In memory of Mike, please do as he loved to do – spend time with your loved ones.
