Michalina "Lena" Carol Plaviak Szyndrowski

Lena was predeceased by her mother and father and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are: her beloved husband of 62 years, Stanley; her children: Wanda (John) Dryburgh, grandchildren Tara and Jaymie and their families; Donald (Judi), grandchildren Stephen and family, and Dayna; Janet (Murray) Prebusheski, grandson Christian and family; John (Sherry), grandsons Shawn and Tyler; Mary Ann (Rob) Griffin, grandchildren Matthew and Gillian; sister Helen (Al) Dawber and family, brother Joseph Plaviak (Marilyn), sister-in-law Gloria Plaviak (Fred) and family, and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Lena was blessed with ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Born in Poland in 1924, Lena immigrated to Canada with her family in 1932, and settled in the Glenavon area of Saskatchewan. She married Stanley Szyndrowski in June of 1949. They resided in Regina and Saskatoon during their life together. Her most cherished accomplishment was raising her family. Lena was a devoted wife, a loving mom, an adoring grandmother and great grandmother who was always there when needed.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., at Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre, 915 Acadia Drive in Saskatoon. Interment at Woodlawn will follow.

We love you Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great Baba, Sister, Aunt, and Friend.

Those of you who provided support throughout her life and in her final days are many, but we would like to especially thank the staff of Extendicare-Preston who, during the last few years of her life, took excellent care of our mother at their wonderful facility. Your support and compassion helped us during a very difficult time. You have touched our lives.
