Peter Alan Bailey

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 23 years, Tracey; his mother-in-law, Shirley; father-in-law, Gord; brother-in-law, Tod; sister-in-law, Kelly; his siblings Peggy, Linda, Fran, Cindy, Shirley and Pat along with their spouses and many nieces and nephews; other family members and his friends.

Peter was predeceased by his parents Frank and Marion and his brother Bill.

Peter was born in Deloraine, Manitoba to Frank and Marion Bailey. The family lived in nearby Melita, Manitoba. Peter graduated from high school in 1982 and attended Herzing Institute in Winnipeg for Business Systems and Computer Programming. He began a long career in retail management as the store manager for Zellers, Staples and Giant Tiger. He took a break from large retail stores in the mid 90’s to open his own store “Work World” in Swift Current, Sk., which is where he met Tracey. He eventually sold the store and returned to Zellers when they married in 1998. Peter and Tracey lived in many places around Canada, including Elrose, SK., Red Deer, AB., Kelowna, B.C., Bracebridge, ON, Sudbury, ON, Brandon, MB. (just Peter for a while) and Saskatoon, SK.

Peter enjoyed golf, traveling, classic cars, political news, barbequing, working in the yard and resting on the deck. He was a loving cat-Dad to Peter and Tracey’s two Birman cats - Chloe and Molly.

He was loved by many and will be forever remembered for his kindness, patience, sense of humour, positive outlook and warm smile.

A private family Celebration of Life for Peter will be held at a future date in his hometown of Melita, Manitoba.
