We are saddened to announce the passing of our mom Phyllis on October 15, 2026, at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon. Phyllis was born in Winnipeg in 1949 and spent her childhood and young adulthood there. In 1969 her and dad were married and after a brief stay in Thompson, Manitoba, returned to Winnipeg and started their family, then relocated to Saskatoon in 1980.
Mom was involved in athletics starting at a young age, and continued bowling and golfing until a few years ago. She participated in the Waskesiu Lobstick several times, and was an elite bowler and two-time national champion in 5-pin bowling as a coach. The friendships she forged through sports were life-long, and she held those dear.
Mom was a hard worker and dedicated employee, and spent the last years of her career as a bookkeeper at various law firms and the Canadian Bar Association. She took great pride in her work and was a well-regarded valuable member of those organizations.
Family was a priority for mom, and she was so extremely proud to be a grandmother. She enjoyed attending the grandchildren’s school events and sports and bragged about them to anyone who would listen.
In 2024, following a car accident, mom moved to Oliver Lodge. Despite the struggles she endured during this time, the one thing she never lost was her great sense of humor. For the past two and a half years, she received the best care that we could have hoped for. We can never thank them enough for the compassion and love that they showed to mom in her final years.
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Edwin, parents-in-law, Adeline and Frank, and her beloved brothers Barry, Nelson, and Keith, sister-in-law Olga and brother-in-law Russ. Mom is lovingly remembered and survived by her daughters Andrea (Ryan) and Jessica (Todd), grandchildren Devin (Courtney), Joseph, Trent (Logan), Adeline, and Zoe, our dad Doug, her sisters-in-law Joyce and Dianne, and her treasured nieces and nephews.
Our family invites you to join us for a memorial gathering on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Acadia McKague Funeral Chapel, 915 Acadia Drive; come and go from 12pm to 3pm with program at 1pm.
Donations to Oliver Lodge in Phyllis’s name are graciously accepted.
