Ramona Diederichs

December 12, 1959 – August 5, 2021

With great sadness we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Left to mourn Ramona are her husband Merle of 25 years, daughter Janelle, son Lyle (Chandel), step-daughters Chantel (Rob), Lindsey (James), mother Rose Merkosky, step-mother Angeline Heck, twin sister Leona (Tim), brothers Murray (Pauline), Rene (Linda), Brian (Dawn), sister-in-law Monique (Dale), grandchildren Scott, Ryan, Telly, Caleb and Ava, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Adolph and brother Ian. Ramona grew up on the family farm north of Cudworth, SK. After high school she studied nursing. Her career spanned over 38 years caring for our war veterans and later at Sherbrooke Community Centre. Her warm and generous heart touched so many lives in her career at Sherbrooke. Just before she retired she was awarded “Employee of the Year” by the staff and co-workers. After retirement her focus turned to completing the retirement home she designed and decorated at Sturgeon Lake. Ramona’s greatest love was her family. Her grandchildren were so attached to her as they sat on the swing together and read storybooks, colouring pictures and taking them to the parks or beaches. It was never too much for them. Our heartfelt appreciation to the doctors and nurses at RUH and St. Paul’s Palliative Care for their compassion and care in her final weeks and days.
