Ray Katelnikoff

Ray was born on February 8, 1955, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Ray worked for Flynn Canada for many years before retiring. After leaving Flynn, he preferred to keep busy and volunteered on his condominium board.

For nearly 30 years, Ray shared his life with his devoted partner, Gale. He was a private man who showed his care through his actions, providing a steady presence and support to Gale throughout their years together.

Ray found comfort in the simple routines of everyday life. He never missed playing his Pick 3 numbers, enjoyed an ice-cold Molson Canadian, and was rarely without his Canadian Classics cigarettes in hand. Known for his opinions, Ray was always ready for a good conversation or spirited debate, and if you asked him, he was rarely, if ever, wrong. Those who knew him will remember these familiar routines, his unwavering confidence, and the unmistakable personality that made Ray uniquely himself.

Ray was predeceased by his father, Alex.

He is survived by his partner, Gale Unick; her sons, Derek and Dwight; his mother, Alice; his sister, Penny (Vernon); his sister, Cindy (Ian); his brothers, Bryan and Ryan (Chantel); and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside gathering will be held on Thursday, July 23, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon.

Ray will be remembered with love by those whose lives he touched, especially Gale, with whom he shared nearly three decades of companionship.
