Raymond was born in Craik, Saskatchewan, on March 4, 1969, to his parents, Aubrey Wall and Dorothy (Kemp) Wall.
After completing high school, Ray joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1988. Upon completing recruit training in Cornwallis, he attended the Royal Canadian Regiment Battle School. Following graduation, he was posted to the 1st Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment. During his time with the battalion, Ray completed a United Nations peacekeeping tour in Cyprus. After returning from Cyprus, he was posted to 3 Commando of the Canadian Airborne Regiment. Ray later continued his military service for 16 years as a Medic with 16 Field Ambulance in the Army Reserve.
In 1993, Ray began his career with Costco. Over the next 33 years, he worked at two warehouse locations and in many different departments. Along the way, he built lasting friendships with coworkers who became like family.
In the autumn of 2003, Ray met and fell in love with Candace. They were married in 2006, and Ray proudly became a stepfather to Alexandra. In 2008, their family was complete with the birth of their son, Sawyer.
Ray was a devoted husband and father who treasured spending evenings on the Super Deck with his family, friends, and neighbours. Summers were often spent at the lake with Grandma Joyce and surrounded by his brothers, nieces, nephews, and extended family, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Throughout his life, Ray was a passionate supporter of many charitable organizations and causes, including STARS Air Ambulance, Jim Pattison Children's Hospital, cancer research, the MS Society, veterans' organizations, the Royal Canadian Legion, and Ride for Dad in support of prostate cancer research. In recognition of his selflessness, Ray received the Saskatoon Good Samaritan Award for helping save the life of Don McDonald.
Ray was also a dedicated advocate for causes close to his heart, including LGBTQ+ initiatives and mental health awareness. His generous spirit and compassion led him to quietly help those in need, especially single mothers, widows, veterans, and anyone facing difficult circumstances. Whether delivering Christmas turkeys and groceries to families or helping a friend clean out a garage, Ray was always the first to lend a hand. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering willingness to help others touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
