Rene passed away unexpectedly at his home in Saskatoon on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the age of 83, with his wife Roselyn Doreen Turcot by his side. Rene is survived by his wife Doreen Turcot, daughters Rayna Jacobson, Michelle (Les) Dietz, step-daughter Lorie Gorrill, grandchildren Riley Jacobson, Dallon and Danielle Dietz, siblings Shirley Trost (of Saskatoon), Jeanette Taylor (of Vancouver) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Anne Turcot and father Rene Joseph Ovide Turcot and siblings Leonard Turcot and Kenneth Turcot. Rene was born on August 18, 1936 in Edmonton, AB. He was a jack of all trades, being involved in many adventures, moving and storage, property owner and car sales just to name a few. He had an interest in recreational vehicles and boats and didn’t start small. Exiting the marina into Lake Diefenbaker harbor was an endeavor but he managed it. Rene enjoyed being at the lake with his family onboard. He also had a great love for his German Shepherds and could sit for hours in the evening with them, watering the flowers, spending time outside. He lived in Saskatoon buying and renovating many houses before finally moving to his and Doreen’s acreage in 1996. Rene will be sadly missed but he’s free from pain now. Due to Covid-19, a Private Family Graveside Service was held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the SPCA. Arrangements in care of Aimé Laventure – Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
