Rhonda Sleeva

August 6, 1967 – February 14, 2018

Rhonda (nee Bernauer) Sleeva of Saskatoon, SK passed away peacefully at St. Paul’s Hospital on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 .Rhonda grew up on a farm near Fulda, Saskatchewan. She attended elementary school in Fulda followed by high school in Humboldt.  She continued her education at St. Peter’s College and convocated from the CMA program in 2001.  Her career took her through accounting firms, CMHC and finally the Government of Saskatchewan.  Rhonda met the love of her life Kurtis Sleeva in 1988 and they married in 2002.  In 2010 they welcomed the birth of their son Mark. Rhonda was a wonderful woman with many endearing qualities.  Her gentle demeanor was welcomed by all who knew her.  She enjoyed the outdoors.  Whether she was teaching her son to fish or enjoying the quiet solitude of kayaking, or going horseback riding…she was one with nature.  She was devoted to her work and studies and was actively involved in the local community association.  This strong work ethic earned her the respect of anyone who worked with her. Rhonda will be missed by her husband Kurtis and son Mark, parents Marcellus and Roszeta Bernauer, her siblings Randy (Corinne) and children Brandon and Brittany, Bradley (Doreen), Brenda (Sheldon) and children Robyn and Shane, in-laws Marlene (Woody), Darcy (Cheryl), Les † (Lenore), David (Bernadine), Brice (Sonja), Michelle (Patrick), and many nieces and nephews.  The Vigil for Rhonda will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at 7pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:30 am both services from St. Patrick’s Parish Centre, 3339 Centennial Drive Saskatoon. The celebrant will be Fr. Gerard Cooper. Cremation to follow the vigil of prayer. A private family interment to be held in St. John’s Columbarium.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Saskatchewan Abilities Council in Rhonda’s memory.  Arrangements are in care of David Schurr Mourning Glory Cremation and Funeral Services.
