Richard Lawrence Piecowye

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Richard "Rick" (Pike) Lawrence Piecowye, a son, father, grandfather, partner, brother, and uncle, on May 12th, 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, at the age of 62, following a recent cancer diagnosis.

Born and raised in Saskatoon, Rick attended Wilson School and Riverview Collegiate, where he honed his skills as an auto mechanic through the apprenticeship program, beginning his career at Parktown Texaco. He later transitioned to a position as Warranty Manager at Western Automotive Rebuilders before joining the University of Saskatchewan Maintenance Department, where he remained a dedicated employee until his passing.

He is survived by his parents, Lawrence and Joan Piecowye; his children, Danielle (Brendan), Kristen (Mike), and Stefanie (Fraser); and his grandchildren, Harper, Hudson, Ty, and Sadie. He will be deeply missed by his longtime partner, Sherry Pritchard. He also leaves behind his sister Cheryl; brother Ryan (Ashley); and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

A Graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 10:00 am. Those wishing to join the family to celebrate Rick’s life, please meet at the gates of Woodlawn Cemetery (1502 2nd Ave. N) at 9:45 am.
