Glenn was born on his family’s homestead in the RM of Wood Creek near Simpson, SK. He was the youngest son of Robert and Mary McDade. Survived by his sister Doreen Gross. He is predeceased by his sisters Helen (Vanthuyne), Margaret (Vanthuyne) and brothers Robbie and Jimmy.
Glenn grew up with a strong background in farming and in cattle. Cattle always held a special place in his life. He spent many hours walking his herd and will be remembered by his family as a cattle whisperer. Glenn took pride in his Black Angus herd and passed his knowledge of cattle onto his sons.
Glenn married MaryAnn (1933-2012 nee: Bearss) in his early twenties and the two moved to a farm in the same RM of Wood Creek and raised 5 children. Ronnie (1951-2005); Bryan and wife Wendy (Diette, Travis, Janette, Chris); Doreen and husband David Hawkes (Konn, Emily, Clint, Dawn, Hunter, Jolene, Jon, Oliver and Abby); Keith and wife Dianne (Amanda, Marc, Reid, Anika, Glendon, Tommy, Sloane and Isabella); Sherri (Logan, Bentley, Annadel, Ava, Bronson and Emily).
Glenn worked hard everyday. He could always be found within his herd or on a tractor tending his acres. The world has lost an amazing father, grandfather and great grandfather. His family finds peace knowing that he is once again reunited with the love of his life looking on at the legacy they both worked so hard to achieve.
A private funeral service will be held at a later date.
