

Rudelpha Diederichs was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan on July 20, 1933 daughter of Omer and Mary Diederichs. She lived on the farm near Verulam with her parents and her siblings, Beatrice, Helen, Marie, Donald and Rose. She went to high school at St. Gabriel’s convent in Biggar and received her nursing training at St. Paul’s School of Nursing in Saskatoon, graduating in 1954. Her entire nursing career was spent at St. Paul’s Hospital, including 5 years as the Head Nurse in Emergency and she continued to be an active member of St. Paul’s School of Nursing Alumni after retiring.
She married Stanley Paraschuk in 1955 and was then engaged in raising a family of 3 sons alongside her nursing career.
Rudelpha was an active member of St. Mary’s Church, St. Mary’s C.W.L., the Associates of St. Marguerite D’Youvill and a founding member of the Mayfair Artists Group. Rudelpha was an excellent artist, creating beautiful watercolours and oil paintings. She was a member of the Saskatoon Bridge Club and was an avid Bridge Player, receiving her Bridge Life Masters in 2018. She was immensely proud of her nursing expertise and career. She lived a life of service in the healing and caring for others.
Rudelpha was predeceased in 2009 by Stanley, her husband of 53 years, her parents, Omer and Mary Diederichs, her sisters Beatrice, Helen, Marie, Rose and her brother Donald. She leaves to mourn her sons David (Aimee) and their children Caitlin (Mark) and Benjamin (Erin) of Calgary, Paul (Sharon) of Calgary and James (Linda)of New Hamburg, Ontario and their sons William, Brian (Cara) and their children Theophane, Cosmas and Raphael; extended family and dear friends.
Rudelpha will be remembered for her kind and generous hospitality, her strong faith, her artistic creativity and her strong devotion to caring for others.
Rudelpha’s family would like to thank the staff and residents of Columbian Manor for her many happy years there with so many special people and the staff at Aspira Stonebridge Crossing Retirement Home for the care and attention she received in her final months.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 at St. Philip Neri Parish (1902 Munroe Ave S, Saskatoon).
