With heavy hearts, Ryan’s family announces his passing on May 1, 2016 in Calgary, AB. Ryan was born at St. Paul’s Hospital on October 28, 1987 and was raised in Saskatoon. He attended Buena Vista Elementary School and Walter Murray Collegiate where he graduated with high honours in 2005. In 2008, he moved to Edmonton, AB to pursue his education at the University of Alberta. He will be forever loved and remembered by his parents, Glen and Connie Johnson; his loving partner, Keith Smith; beloved brother and sister, Shaun and Amanda; and he will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, godparents and friends. Ryan was predeceased by his cherished grandparents, Ruth and Don Newberg, and Earl and Hazel Johnson; and the beloved family dog, Sasha. Ryan had many varied interests. He enjoyed many hours playing his favourite video games; spent countless hours swimming, boating and camping with family and friends at the lake; and was very fortunate to enjoy many trips with Keith, including two trips to Disneyland which he enjoyed very much. Ryan will be remembered for his passion most of all, he strived for the best and never settled for anything less. He will be so deeply missed by all. A Service to Remember and Celebrate his Life will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 2:00 PM from Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Dr., Saskatoon). Lunch will follow. For those so wishing, donations can be made in memory of Ryan to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
