Shaunette Tania Englisbee passed quietly on December 19, 2025, at the age of 56. She was a beautiful soul—selfless, loving, and deeply caring—whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to all who knew her.
Born and raised in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Shaunette was the heart and centre of her family. She was welcoming, kind-hearted, deeply empathetic, and compassionate, with a calm strength that grounded those around her. She listened deeply, offered thoughtful advice, gave the very best hugs, and was the trusted keeper of many deep secrets. Her amazing sense of humour, competitive spirit, and curious intelligence made her both engaging and memorable to everyone she met. Shaunette had a rare gift: wherever she went, she made friends with strangers, connecting effortlessly through genuine interest, kindness, and an open heart.
On April 5, 2003, Shaunette married the love of her life, Darwin Englisbee. Together they built a life rooted in love and family. Shaunette was a devoted wife and a proud, loving mother to her sons, Aaron and Brent. She was overjoyed to become a grandmother and was the very best “BOB,” embracing the role with pure happiness and pride.
Shaunette’s love for life was evident in the simple and meaningful moments she cherished most—camping with family, morning coffee conversations about the books she was reading, late-night visits around the campfire at the lake, quiet night walks to watch fireworks, and laughter shared with her sister. She loved travel and culture, especially family trips to Mexico and Poland, where she balanced adventure with her love of exercise and togetherness. Her nieces and nephews adored her—their favourite aunty—always making time for nails, long talks, and shared experiences. She showed up fully, asking to join, watch, or simply be present, making each feel uniquely loved and supported. She took a keen interest in family history and proudly shared stories of her father, a true daddy’s girl, ensuring his memory lived on with those who never had the chance to know him. An animal lover at heart, Shaunette was affectionately known as a “zookeeper,” and her compassion extended to all living things.
Shaunette is lovingly remembered by her husband, Darwin; sons Aaron and Brent; mother Marlene Sidebottom; sister Jodie Caron (Wade); brother Cory Sidebottom (Audrey); nephews Matthew, Dylan, Nevan, DJ, Caden and Dawson; nieces Rielle and Katelyn (lil G); grandmother Elsie Vogeli; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her father, William Leroy Sidebottom; her grandfathers, Leo Reschke, Joseph Sidebottom and Ernie Vogeli; her grandmother, Gladys McWatters; her aunt, Ruth Reschke McKay and her uncle James Sidebottom.
Shaunette will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, openness, laughter, and the remarkable way she made everyone—friend or stranger—feel seen, valued, and loved.
A Memorial Service is not planned at this time. Shaunette’s hope was that her family and friends would honour her memory by carrying forward her love for life, family, and happiness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local SPCA in her memory.
