Another angel has got her wings
Shirley passed peacefully surrounded by people who loved her at Glengarda Hospice after a brief six month journey through small cell lung cancer, she was 73. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Braun (Glen Hurman), son Sheldon, grandchildren; Brenden, Tyler, Jordyn, Camryn, Brooke, Nicole, Ashly, Tanner and Tylor, four great grandchildren, and numerous cousins and extended family. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Nick and Mary Lemko and her eldest daughter Shelly Braun. Shirley grew up in Saskatoon in Montgomery dividing her time up between Holiday Park Golf Course and CN Curling club, depending of course if it was winter or summer. In her teenage years, Waskesiu was her stomping grounds, usually getting into trouble with her cousin Mavis, or Mavis, I suppose, was busy just keeping Shirley out of trouble, I hear it was a full time job! She graduated from Mount Royal Collegiate, which her daughter Dawn and granddaughter Jordyn graduated from too. Her first marriage to Leonard Braun was short, he died when she was only 28. Shirley did find love again and married John Kinzel, who she separated from in 2015. The outdoors is where she would like to be in the summer whether it be camping, golfing and bbqing. Shirley wasn't the most adventurous lady, but she did make it to Mexico once, I believe that was her only excursion out of this country. Our Mother was a kind, fun, loyal, beautiful soul and we will miss her for the rest of our days until we all meet again. Shirley requested no funeral. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to cancer research. Arrangements entrusted to Chelsea Krentz.
