April 3, 1927 - March 24, 2022
Victor was born at SEC 12, TP 34, RGE 28, W2nd (Forsland) and soon after the family moved to a farm 15 miles north of Colonsay. It was there that Dad lived most of his life and brought his bride Eveline (nee Deitner) there on January 24th, 1959. In their 70’s, Dad and Mom lived at the farm for the summers and winters in Saskatoon. When Dad was in his early 80’s they moved full time to the city and Dad commuted back and forth to the farm. After his heart surgery in 2008, Dad retired from farming. They moved to St. Ann’s Place in 2009 where they resided till 2020 and moved to Trinity Manor. Last summer they moved across the parking lot to Samaritan Place. Dad viewed his life as a life well lived. He was a hard worker, could fix or build just about anything, and was a successful farmer. Dad was a great storyteller, had a good sense of humor, enjoyed a good game of Kaiser, and liked to cause mischief. Dad and Mom enjoyed many activities through the years like dancing, golf, camping, and fishing. They enjoyed travelling and went to Hawaii, southern US and into Mexico, and then on gambling trips to North Dakota and through Manitoba & Saskatchewan. They also took many trips out to the west coast. Dad above all was someone who loved his family well and was loved by many. As one of his great nieces said, “Uncle Victor is the sweetest!” He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Julia Korol, his siblings and their spouses: John, Stanley & Ann, Fred & Rose/Joan, Irene & Emil Plozki, along with brothers and sisters in law: Wilfred & Thelma Deitner, Vincent & Ivy Deitner, Leonard & Adeline Deitner, Leona & Wray Lewis, Marie & Tony Zdunich, and Sandford Deitner. Dad will be missed by his wife of 63 years, Eveline, children: Tim (Donna), Juana, Ben, Lisa (Steve), grandchildren: Julie (Neil), Steven (Kerri), Christine, Kevin (Kristyn), Shawn (Angela), Coral-Anne, Katrina (Rob), Joseph (Amber), Andrew, Richelle (Matthew), William (Bella), Oksana, and Devon, along with 21 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Rose Deitner, and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Parish (1902 Munroe Avenue South Saskatoon).
