

Walter passed away peacefully in his bed at his home at Diamond House in Warman, Saskatchewan on September 24, 2026. Walter is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mabel; son Les (Jan), daughter Krista, son Kevin (Li-Chun); grandsons Dylan (Mishaela), Garret; great grandsons Henry and Oliver; brother David (Judy), sister Carol (Ken Wiebe), sister-in-law Margaret Wall; many nephews and nieces and extended family. Walter was predeceased by his parents John and Katherine, brothers Jack, Stan, and Jim; daughter-in-law Pat Peckover; and all of Mabel’s siblings.
Walter started his work career as a teacher in SW Saskatchewan and then moved on to Medicine Hat to continue teaching. In the 1970’s he attended the U of S and obtained his legal degree. Most of Walter’s legal career was invested as a Crown Prosecutor in Moose Jaw and Regina.
Throughout his life Walter was very active and enjoyed curling, camping, fishing, canoeing, walking and participating in good discussion.
Funeral service to be held on October 8, 2026 at 1:00 pm, care of Mourning Glory- Acadia McKague’s Funeral Chapel, 915 Acadia Drive.
