It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Langley, 10 days after celebrating his 95th birthday. Fred was born in Richard, SK and grew up on the family farm. He enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy in 1943 at 17 years of age and served as a Radar Operator on the Corvette Camsack and then on the Frigate Antigonish. After the war he received his Bachelor of Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan. He worked for PFRA and the Saskatchewan Water Cooperation and taught at U of S. Fred had a love for nature and animals and a zest for life. He enjoyed dancing and sing-alongs and singing in the church choir. He loved to play golf, curl, hunt and fish. He had a hole in one at Wildwood Golf Course at 94 years of age. He continued a lifelong keen interest in the agriculture industry. He leaves behind his wife Jean, daughters Wendy (Roger), Janice (Tim), Sandra, Carol (Carey), son Craig, grandchildren Connie, Wyatt, Sara, Tanya, Carlee and Connor, as well as 9 great-grandchildren. A life well lived, Fred will be remembered with love in the hearts of his family and friends. Thank-you to the staff at RUH.
