William “Bill” Carreiro passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side in Saskatoon. William was born in Edmonton to Antonio and Fatima Carreiro. Bill was a kind and loving soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was passionate about his faith, family and friends. All outdoor pursuits he loved, especially fishing and hunting. Bill leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his beloved wife Maria of 28 years; and his son Marc-Anthony. He also leaves his parents; mother-in-law Peggy (Doug); brother Victor (Tammy); sisters Betty and Priscilla (Jason); brother-in-law Keith (Susan); sisters-in-law Kara (Tamio) and Laura (Will); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Cathedral of the Holy Family (123 Nelson Rd.) with Very Rev. Father David Tumback as celebrant. There will also be a Vigil for William at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 17. Both these services will be held at St. Dominic Savio Parish (14406 62 St. NW) in Edmonton, AB with Father Gabriel Udeh as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saskatoon Cancer Center – Attn: Patient Comfort Fund for Parking (20 Campus Dr, Sasktaoon, SK S7N 4H4). The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. S. Ahmed, Dr. J. Malan, Tracy Frank R.N. and the most supportive team at the Cancer Center. During Bill’s last days at home, he received wonderful care from the homecare nurses, especially Laurie Priestley.
