Alcide Joseph Landry

Cid was born in Chapleau, Ontario on January 21, 1932, to a large family. His lifelong career with CP Rail took him to the remote town of Nicholson, Ontario where he met the love of his life, Marjorie “DeeDee”. Any spare time during his working years and in his retirement, would be enjoyed at his favourite place, Nicholson, with his wife by his side. Together they shared their love of the outdoors and devotion to their faith during their 70+ years of marriage.

Loving husband of Marjorie and much-loved father of Jim (Andrea), Irene (late Ron) and Theresa (Trent). Grandfather of David and Jason, great grandfather of Rylee. Son of the late M. Clarina and William, brother of Marcel, Gaston (Betty) and Octave (Connie). He is now reunited with his siblings Victor, Maurice, Mariette, Gilbert, Theresa, Theodore, George and Dalma.

Cid’s gentle nature, generous spirit, and subtle humour will be truly missed by all who knew him.

A Memorial Service will be held at Elim Pentecostal Tabernacle (306 McNabb St.) on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
