Beloved wife for over 50 years of Hal "Harold Jr." Mogg. Anna loved her children and their partners deeply: Jennifer (Shawn Madey), Steven (Katrina Veittiaho) and Jonathan (Iris Lenauer). More than anything else in the world, she loved her 5 grandchildren: Liam, Emma, Elliot, Alexander and Nikolai. Predeceased by her parents Raymond Skagen and Edna Skagen-Paskins and her stepfather Peter Paskins. Dear sister of Robert Skagen (Terri). Family meant everything to her. She dearly loved her first cousins and extended family in Canada, the US, and England and kept them close in her heart no matter the distance. Special lifelong friend of Karen Gilles. Anna had the gift of gab and was always the life of the party. She came from a long line of accomplished and talented country musicians. She treasured every reunion, family party, phone calls and casual visits.
Anna was happiest working in her gardens. Her speciality was ponds and she wore her title of "The Swamp Queen" proudly. Anna spent most of her career working at New North Greenhouses in the water garden section where she met many of her life long friends. She earned the title of Master Gardener with the Sault Ste. Marie Horticultural Society. She loved sharing her knowledge and passion with anyone who would listen. She has donated many plants from her rare and diverse collection of hostas to Bellevue Park so that everyone could enjoy their beauty.
She had a special love for her cats and dogs over the years, especially her beloved Golden Retriever, Drummer.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Although Anna loved flowers, donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Terry Fox Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangement entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522). Expressions of sympathy may be offered at www.arthurfuneralhome.com.
