Mom, 93, passed away Wednesday, October 28, surrounded by love and music.
She was the daughter of the late Lulu (nee Campbell) and Jack Martin, and the beloved wife of the late Osborne Wright. She thought that, as the eldest of three, she would not outlive her brother and sister. That is not always how it works. Brother Randall Martin and his wife, Maureen, and sister Donna-Jean DeLong and her husband Fred await at heaven's portal.
Left to grieve, remember and share stories are her family: Nancy Rouble (Steve), Brenda Hewgill (Joe), Valerie Lepore (Sam) and Marty Wright (Barbara).
Grandchildren will miss the face that always lit up when she saw them: Adam Rouble (Renee), Brent Rouble (Gillian), Jodi Caldwell (Justin), Barbara Hewgill-Kneulman (Peter), Cameron Hewgill (Naomi), Sarah Lepore (Dylan), Jessica Lepore, Grace Wright, and Ethan Wright.
Dane Rouble issued in the next generation, the great grandchildren: Dane Rouble, Brynn Kneulman, Reed Kneulman, Nash Caldwell, Miller Rouble, Max Rouble, Seth Rouble, Troy Rouble and Emmett Hewgill.
Mom lived a farming life, both on St. Joseph Island and in Korah Township. Despite challenges encountered, she considered herself lucky. Her consistent discovery of four-leaf clovers, along with regular wins at a variety of card games, attest to that luck.
Besides her great love for family, Mom enjoyed many gentle friendships which included travelling buddies and church friends.
Apple Orchard One (F.J. Davey Home) became her new home over 1½ years ago. The staff (what a team!), residents and families of residents touched Mom deeply within the 'living in the moment' realm created by dementia.
Mom was kind and humble. Her quiet strength and bursts of humour will be missed. Always beautiful. Always a lady.
