

Suddenly, on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at the age of 71. Brian passed away at Sault Area Hospital located in Sault Ste Marie,Ontario.
Born on May 7, 1954 in Stockport, England. Brian immigrated to Canada in1980 building a life defined by his immense work ethic and gentle spirit. Brian was a true friend to all who knew him. He led by example, teaching his family that a life well-lived is one spent with hard work, kindness and mentoring. He worked at John Deere for 42 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. Where his expertise and willingness to guide others left a lasting impact on his colleagues and his trade.
He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Kathleen (Teddy).
He was the devoted and loving husband of Corry. The cherished son-in-law of Marilyn Miedema (Don). Brian was a best dad and friend of Hayley (Doug), Nicholas (Jodie), Daniel, Matthew (Elaine), James. Step Dad of Kayla, Kevin and Bethany. Brian was the "Grandpa" to Kelsey (Edgar), Katie (Peter), Ashley, Kayla and Melissa Barney, Dakota Jade, Leland James, Alyssia Mae, Dakota, Billy, the late Aaron, Sawyer, Tyler and Isaac. His legacy continues as the proud " Great-Grandpa " of Aliyah, Adrian, Adeline, Aiden, Noah, and Willow. He will be deeply missed by his beloved dog Sheba, who was his constant and faithful companion. Brian is survived by his two sisters Hazel (Kenny), Janice (Dave) and their families, along with many dear friends and colleagues.
Corry wants to thank her Soo family for the love and support during this difficult time. The family extends their sincere gratitude to the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Services, the Paramedic Services, and the staff at the Sault Area Hospital for their efforts and compassionate care.
In accordance with Brian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Barrie, Ontario. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). In lieu of flowers, donations (payable by cheque or online) can be made in Brian’s memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, this would be greatly appreciated by the family.
