Although her passing was sudden and unexpected, Diane passed away in a place she Loved, surrounded by some of the people who meant the most to her. She leaves behind her loving husband, Nick Kozak, mother, Rita Lemieux-Di Lanzo (nee: LePage), daughter Coral, son Grant (Stephanie), and step-children Kylie and Kenny (Chelsea), brother Henry, and sister-in-law Darlene. She was a very proud grandmother of Lilah, Levi, Avery, Rex, Tatum, and Wyatt. She was predeceased by her father, Laurent Lemieux (“Blackie”), step-father, Camy Di Lanzo, and brothers Paul and Eugene. Diane leaves behind an incredible circle of friends who became her chosen family and some of the people she loved most in the world.
The final week of her life was, in many ways, one of her best. It was filled with milestones, happy moments, laughter, and time spent with friends and family. Looking back, it feels almost as though that week was a gift, filled with so much of what brought her joy.
She was unapologetically herself: real, honest, and a straight-shooter who always said what she meant and meant what she said. Diane had a caring heart and was the kind of friend people could count on. She had a love for rock music (especially The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Queen), and anything that carried a little bit of peace and good energy. She was always good for a laugh. Diane was also incredibly organized and took great pride in keeping things clean and in order. For those who knew her well, know that she gave the best hugs and never missed a chance to tell you she loved you. She believed in something greater and found comfort in her faith and in the belief that there is something beyond this life. In loving memory of Diane: turn the music up, crack a cold Bud Light, and tell your people you F-ing love them.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, with details to be announced by the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522). Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com obituaries section to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family.
