Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Donny was the beloved eldest son of Daniel and Gayle Pszeniczny. Devoted husband to Terri, his lifelong partner and best friend of 36 years and a loving, proud father to Daniel (Heather) and Sarah (Evan), who were the center of his world. His role as Grampie to his granddaughters, Hadley Jane and Rory Mae, brought him endless joy and laughter. He was also a caring brother to Marty (Kelly), with whom he shared countless memories and stories over the years.
Those who knew Donny will remember him for his “jeopardy smarts”, kindness, and big heart. He had a natural way of making people laugh and feel at ease, often using his quick wit to brighten the room. A lifelong hockey lover, he was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan — cheering them on through every win and loss with unwavering loyalty.
Above all, Donny will be remembered for his loving spirit, sense of humor, and the way he made everyone feel like family. His warmth and laughter will continue to echo in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him.
Our family wants to extend our gratitude to the Canadian Tire Team, Dr. Bodnar, and the nurses who helped us get through the most heartbreaking day.
We know that Granny and Auntie Julie were waiting for you with open arms and a couple of pies. Give Hippo all of the treats and belly rubs. Our hearts are shattered but you will be with us always Dad.
You can’t always get what you want, but if you try sometime you’ll find you get what you need.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, smiles, and memories of a man who meant so much to so many. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Canadian Mental Health Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be deeply appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Pszeniczny family.
