Dorothy Jean Bruce

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Dorothy at the age of 83 with her family by her side.

She was daughter to the late Margaret and Robert Willan. She will be reunited with her dear husband Alwyn of 61 years. Devoted and loving mother of Angela Bruce. Proud grandma of Jacob and Alex and the late Bradley. Great grandmother to 6. She will be fondly missed by many others.

Dorothy enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as nurse. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandsons and was an excellent baker. Dorothy devoted countless hours of service to her church and could always be counted on whenever anyone needed anything. She will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit and she never took herself too seriously.

The family would like to thank the staff of Maple View (Goulais Bay) for their care and compassion. We would also like to thank the staff of 3B at the Sault Area Hospital, as well as Dr. Booth and her staff.

There will be no formal funeral at this time. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (made payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
