Erna Coufal

Born in Austria to the late Gustav and Leopoldine Schopp. Loving wife of the late Erich Coufal. Cherished mother of Herb Schopp (Irene), Frank Coufal (late Darlene) (Mary Ellen Cote) and Christine Fuerer (Volkmar). Devoted Oma of Jeff Schopp (Patti), Karen Derasp (Mike), Michael Fuerer (Rachel), Thomas Coufal (Lanna), Lisa Fuller (Thomas) and Laurie Burrows (Rodney). Great Oma of twelve and great great Oma of 6. Sister of the late Rudolph, late Gustav, late Adele and late Ernst. Survived by her brother Eric Schopp (Susie). Sister-in-law of the late Fred and Frances Roch. Erna will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Austria.

Immigrated to Canada December of 1959. She worked the majority of her career at the Plummer Memorial Hospital. After retirement she enjoyed to travel to many places, Mexico being her favourite. She was excellent at Needle Point, Embroidery, Knitting and Crocheting. Much of her handiwork was gifted to her children and grandchildren, for many generations to enjoy.

The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff at Extendicare Maple View - 4th Floor Lake Superior for all their wonderful care and compassion at this time and over the years.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522). A private family service to be held. Cremation to take place and interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation to ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
