It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Frances Brunton.
Beloved wife of 58 years to Harry and lovingly remembered by her son Paul. Daughter of the late Alex and Rachel Hunter. Survived by siblings Hugh (Arlene) Hunter, Heather (late Ralph) Kirby and Peter Hunter. Predeceased by sister Adeline (late Frank) Drew, brothers Alex Hunter, Don (Beverly) Hunter and Jim Hunter. Daughter-in-law of the late Stuart and Olive Brunton. Sister-in-law of Bill (late Gail) Brunton, Jean (late Victor) Lindquist, Judy (late John) Dixon, Sharon (late Ed) Ledyit and Don (Jean) Brunton. Predeceased by brother-in-law Lloyd (Della) Brunton and sister-in-law Shirley (late Ralph) MacKay. Aunt to many nieces and nephews of both Hunter and Brunton Families. Remembered by her Hunter and Barber cousins.
Harry and Fran made their home in Desbarats after marrying on June 30, 1967. On August 13, 1971, they welcomed their son Paul to their home on Dodet St. which completed their family.
Frances was a longtime employee of the Algoma Manor where she took pride in caring for the many residents over her 20 plus years career.
Special thank you to cousins Marsha, Rhonda, Matt, Jamie Hunter and Paula Starzynski, Lori Dixon, Aunt Heather Kirby, and to Chris and Kendra Rome.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at North Shore Health Network – Blind River and Matthew Memorial Auxiliary for their dedication, compassion and care.
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me.”
Remember the best times, the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived while I was strong.
Continue my heritage, I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease, my soul is at rest. Remembering all, how truly I was blessed.
Continue traditions, no matter how small.
Go on with your life, don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly, so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes we’re together again.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522).
