When Freda graduated, she went to work at the Bank of Nova Scotia in Sussex, New Brunswick, as a teller. The business she learned there served her well. When Roger Sr. had a severe heart attack in his 30's, she opened a little store in the front of their home to support the family and she did very well. She was also very clever at investing what she could. She and I had the same eye condition (AMD) and when we got so that we couldn't write, we called each other to keep in touch with our families. Freda is sadly missed by all of us.

To Roger and family,

My condolences to you on the loss of your mom. My mom, Althea Lambkin, was a good friend of Freda. Freda provided exceptional support to my mom always but while she lived at the Davey Home, especially. Mom always had me give Freda a call when I visited, as mom had lost the ability to speak. I will always remember and appreciate Freda and her efforts to keep in touch with and comfort my mom while she was so ill.

John & I spent some wonderful times at your Mothers home and she was always a very kind and gentle person.
