I didn't know Gary well, but I could tell what a special person he was. He touched the lives of all of those he met and will be remembered with great fondness. Glenda and Family, I am so sorry for your loss, he was an amazing man.

Glenda I am so sorry that Gary is gone. You probably do not know me as I knew Gary when he was a wild and funny teen in New Toronto back in  the mid 50's. I had just moved into the area and was in the habit of eating at the Capital Tea rooms. Had often noticed this young fellow that was always smiling and chatting up all the girls. One day we started talking and he introduced me to many of his friends who have become lifetime friends of mine (One of whom is Nick) When my wife and I had to clean out my inlaws apartment in  the Soo in th early 80's you can guess who it was showed up with a bunch of his friends to help us load stuff to return to Toronto. The ironic thing is that we had planned on a trip to the Soo this fall and had hoped to touch basis with him again.There are no words that can really comfort when you lose a loved one but you can be sure that there are many that sympathise with you. He really was a wonderfull, neat guy

My fondest memory was when my Volkswagen pedal car broke down and my dad brought it and me up to the service station where Gary was working. Dear Glenda and all of Garys family....I was not going to put anything on the site  but I feel I have to....I met Gary when I was 8 years old...my Dad had a company truck and he got gas  at Mcnabb Shell...that is were Gary pumped gas and we met...he used to spray myself and my brother with the water hose...then a few years later we met up again....we were both single and spent some time together.....when my father passed away he was always there for me....when he startd failing I bugged him to go to  the docs  and get checked out....but I really think he new.....I spent time visiting him at home and in the hospt...when I went last thurs he hugged me and said that he was not going to be able to get out of this....then we all lost  a real good MAN.....I SEND ALL MY  THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS TO ALL HIS FAMILY....GARYS FREIND FOR EVER  MIKE

Our Friday nights won't be the same but they will be remembered. Thanks for the good times, you will be missed.

My goodness...It was shocking to hear of this tragedy.  My heartfelt sorrow goes out to all family....Glenda, may you find peace.  I have very fond memories of Gary, the years he played Santa visiting soooo many children in SSM; for many years he would come to our house with the Bronco decked out in lights and the most realistic costume...the kids were in total AWE.  Also I will not forget his speech at my wedding....I have thought many times in the past week that his speech is particularly appropriate for what I am experiencing now...Gary, you will be missed. Gary grew up in the same neighborhood as my wife and sometimes went skating with her.
Bonnie Jane went to Heaven June 22, 2013 and probably greeted him at the Pearly Gates.

Maybe we will work together instead of competing once we meet again.
