Born in Guelph, Ontario and the youngest of five children, she was predeceased by her parents, Beth and George Hurley, three sisters Anita McArthur, Isobel O’Rourke, Bette Roe and brother Bill Hurley. Although living in Sault Ste. Marie for her entire adult life, she never quite got over her longing for the city of Guelph and made frequent trips back to spend time with family and friends.
Loving wife of the late Orland McCrea. Devoted mother of the late Robert "Bob" McCrea (Nancy), Debbie Krohn (late Paul), Ruth Zanatta (Brian) and Betty Reed (late Rob). Proud Grandma of Chris, Craig (Kristin), Mark (Allison), Ryan (Katie), Krista (Chris), Scott (Jess) and the late Jennifer and Robert. Caring Great-Grandma of Kennedy, Riley, Tyler, Norah, Paisley, Levi, Alaina, Chase and the late Hayden. Fondly remembered as a special Aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Mom and Dad were hard workers; first building our family home and then a camp on McCarrell’s Lake, where we spent time in the summers. She was a stay-at-home Mom for many years until going to work at the Group Health Centre. In her retirement, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, volunteering and was always up for a bingo night.
