Gerald Robert Burns

Beloved son of the late Robert "Stringbean" and Patricia Burns (nee Merrick).

Husband and best friend to Bertha Burns of 54 years. Loving father to Jerry Jr. and the late Jamie (Kathy) Burns. Grandpa to 3 adored grandchildren. Jerry leaves behind his brothers Frank Robinson (Ruth), Scott Burns (Susie) , sister Sandra Anich (Andy) and Betty-Jo Reed (John). Special nephew to Jerry Wilding (late Betty).

As an accomplished musician, Jerry was held to high esteem by many fellow artists and lifelong friends. Throughout his career, Jerry had the honour of travelling to and performing in Nashville.

When he wasn’t performing, Jerry was up on the iron as a second generation iron worker for the Brotherhood of Local 786. He was very proud to be a member alongside his father, brother, sons and grandson.

As per Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be announced by family at a later date. Memorial contributions (payable online or by cheque) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
