

CHOJNOWSKI, Jo-Ann Margaret "Jody" (Nee Morley) - (April 2, 1948 – May 25, 2026). It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jo-Ann “Jody”, surrounded by the love of her family, at Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Monday, May 25, 2026, at the age of 78.
Cherished wife of Mark, with whom she shared nearly 57 years of devoted marriage. Loving mom of Dina. She is now lovingly reunited with her son Daryl. Devoted Oma whose world was Aiden and Tia. Dear mother-in-law of Melissa. Predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Harry Morley. Beloved sister of Randy (late Sue), Warren (Teresa), Don (Lynne), late Sharon Boisvert (late John), Terry (Lorrie), Keith, Debbie Adams (Gary), Robert (Heather) and the late Richard. Daughter-in-law of the late Ann Kovacs and the late Zoltan Kovacs. Sister-in-law of the late Stephanie (Pat), Stanley, late Gabriela (Derek), Leon, Zoltan "Toots" (Diana), and Susan (late Andy).
Very Special Aunt of many nieces and nephews, Nathan (Maggie), Chantel Cully (Jamie), Brandon, Brittany (Andrew), Lori Gray (Neil), Lisa, Jocelyn Corbett (Glenn), Kaley Chibnall (Dan), Peter (April), late Sara, Jacob, Megan (Zenga), Taryn (Jesse), Josh (Kate), late Luke (Jackiy), Jesse (Jayna), Tyson, Kendal, Courtney, Kelsey (Devin), Sean, Ron, Lori, Cathy, Derek, Amy, Ashley, Adam, Nadia, Bronson, and Carmen. Very Special Great & Great Great Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Beloved Godmother of Troy, Tracey, Matthew, Jennin and adopted godson Jim. Cherished cousin and friend of many that will miss her dearly. She was also like a Oma and Aunt to many others.
Jo-Ann lived a life of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. Consistently putting others before herself. She loved to camp, travel, enjoyed her yearly shopping, bowling with the ladies and was a proud and loyal Greyhounds fan. She was also a cherished friend to many whom her door was always open and goodies were always there to be shared. We will all miss you for the rest of our days and will keep all of our special memories close to our hearts.

As per Jo-Ann’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the Moose Lodge (543 Trunk Road). Memorial donations to ARCH (by cheque or online) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
