John was the caring and devoted father of Katherine Danesi of New York and Paul Danesi (Carolyn) of Port Credit. Proud Poppy to Olivia, Gabrielle and Charlotte. He was predeceased by his loving wife Georgina (nee Sikich), his sister Loretta Carlin (nee Danesi), and his parents Primo and Rita Danesi. John will be missed by his nieces and nephews and friends.
He first visited Northern Ontario when he was a teenager, spending time in the summer at Big Basswood Lake where he developed a love of the outdoors. After graduating from Teacher’s College at Assumption University, he assumed his first teaching position in Sault Ste. Marie at Sault Collegiate. He developed numerous friendships with fellow teachers who shared his love of the outdoors and with whom spent many hours hunting and fishing. Both John and his wife Georgina loved to entertain in their home and were known for their dinner parties. They were also avid bridge players and travelers.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of professionals and volunteers at Extendicare Van Daele Manor and the Sault Area Hospital who provided attention and care to him over the last eighteen months.
