John Sweeney

SWEENEY, John – “Poppa-John” took his “last train ride” on Sunday after noon on August 5, 2012. He was a true soul-mate to his wife, friend for 35 years, Paddy. He was one of the cherished, well-loved children of the late Angeline and Thomas Sweeney. Poppa was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Especially by his daughters, Janet Anderson (Jeff), Lorie Greco (Tony), Debbie Roberts (Jody), Shelley DiRosa and his son Thomas Sweeney (Dawn). Also his grandchildren, Billy Anderson (Melissa), Sheena Cress (Dave), Kerri Anderson (Brandon), Anthony Sweeney, Luc Greco, Jeremy Greco and Donovan and Angelica DiRosa and the little great granddaughters Kaileigh, Preslee, Ellie and the late Marli J. Cress. His brothers and sisters Rose Sweeney, Louise Jean (late Bob), Mary McMinn (Gary), Anna-Marie Sweeney – Ray Sweeney (Posie),Danny Sweeney (Jane). “Special brothers Brian and Mike”, late Bob Sweeney and Gloria Lay. He had many nieces and nephews. He also enjoyed a renewed friendship with Marilynne Forletta and is already missed by his pooch Angel. As John wishes there is no funeral only cremation, small church service to follow at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation. John also had too many wonderful health care workers to mention especially at the renal clinic.
