BOOTH, Joyce Lois - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joyce at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice on Saturday, December 6, 2025. Born on March 24, 1927, Joyce lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and love.
Joyce was the beloved spouse of the late Donald Booth, with whom she shared 71 wonderful years of marriage. She was a devoted mother of Leslie Booth (Joyce Wolfe) of Kincardine, Steven Booth (Kelly) of Sault Ste. Marie, and Nancy Fleming (Michael) of Sault Ste. Marie.
Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Elaine Booth, Steven Booth (Gabrielle Jensen), Ryan Booth (Agatha), Colin Booth (Danielle), Matt Fleming (Jessica Nolan), and Christopher Fleming (Amanda). Joyce was also a proud great-grandmother to Isaiah Correia, Liam Fleming, Ben Fleming, Collin Skindell, Adam Fleming, and Evan Fleming.
Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Helen Fisher, and by her eight sisters: Marion Caple (late Ed), Doris Agnew (late Don), Bette Fortin (late Rene), Eva Gough (late George), Pat St. Germain (late Don), Helen Roberts (late Barry), Joan Godfrey (Wayne), and Janet Edwards (late Don). Joyce was also a cherished sister-in-law to Robert Booth (late Jess, late Laura), and Margaret Nelder (late Graham). She was a much-loved aunt to her many nephews and nieces.
Joyce’s life was enriched by her passions and hobbies. She was an avid gardener, finding joy in tending to her flowers. She enjoyed playing bocce, cards and dice at Horseshoe Bay with her sisters, nieces and nephews; baking delicious pies, solving crossword puzzles, and reading. One of her favourite destinations for many years was her annual winter holiday in Indian Rocks Shore, Florida with Don and sister Bette and brother-in-law Rene.
Her gentle spirit, love for family, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank everyone at Sault Area Hospital in 3C and the ARCH for their support, tender care and kindness during this time. Special thanks to Doctors Karen Booth, Jordan Law, Lucas Castellani and Megan Gray for their kindness and compassion at this difficult time.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522) on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, between 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. Joyce would prefer you didn’t wear black and possibly wear something with blue, (her favourite colour). In lieu of flowers donations to ARCH or Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be appreciated. She will be laid to rest with Don, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be made at www.arthurfuneralhome.com
