Joyce leaves behind her spouse Philip. She will be forever missed by her daughters, Stephenie (Christopher) and Lorna (David) and is now reunited with her son, Randy (Bridget). She will always be cherished by her siblings Joan (Jon) and Steven (Judy). She leaves behind her mother, Dorothy and is reunited with her beloved father, John. Paige, Olivia, Josephine, Zoey, Sarah, Toby, Logan and Hope will forever carry their Grandma Joyce in their hearts. The family would like to express their thanks to Joyce’s friends and family for the years of friendship, laughs and memories.
Spending time with her family brought her immense joy. Joyce was a social butterfly, she loved to be surrounded by those she loved. And those that met her, grew to love her as well. Joyce will always be remembered by her amazing strength, love, independence and spitfire personality.
Her greatest advice to her daughters was to always carry a spare tire (believe it, it happened twice).
The family would like to thank the many amazing staff and doctor’s who had a hand in Joyce’s care over the years.
As per Joyce’s wishes, a celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Moose Lodge (543 Trunk Road) from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Swanson family.
