It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of Judy at the age of 76. She is daughter to the late Charles and Meril Lawson. Devoted wife of Dan for over 55 years. Proud mother of Michael (Mandy). Loving Nana of Kyle and Tyler. She leaves behind her sister Marlene. Predeceased by her siblings Douglas, Lorraine and Blaine. She will be missed by many other, friends and relatives.
Judy will be fondly remembered for her love of children, fostering numerous children over a 12 year period. Her favourite thing to do was to watch her family enjoying themselves playing sports, she was our biggest fan. In her free time, she liked to sew and knit, making various clothing items for her family, especially Pj's and slippers. She was the matriarch of our family and extended family, always taking care of anyone who needed her for anything. She considered her friends like family.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Sault Area Hospital for their care and compassion.
As per Judy's request there will be no formal funeral service at this time. A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (made payable by cheque or online) to the Children's Aid Society of Algoma or the Humane Society of Sault Ste. Marie would be greatly appreciated by the family. Please visit www.arthurfuneralhome.com obituaries section to leave a message of condolence as a keepsake for the family. Judy's final care has been entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E., 705-759-2522).
