It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Diane at the age of 89 at the F.J. Davey Home.
Predeceased by her parents Gordon and Kay Lewis. Beloved wife of the late Leo for 62 years. Proud mother of Michael (late Mary), Paul (Carol) and Vicki Aiudi (Frank). Cherished grandmother to Geoffrey (Dani), David, Amy (Spencer), Leslie (Allin), Gordon (Lyvia), Leo, and Patrick (Sarah). Great grandmother to Charli, Max, Nicholas, Mason, Luke, Griffin, Sierra and Leni. Dear sister to the late Gordon Lewis Jr. (late Joanne), and late Dorn Lewis (late Betty). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Diane attended King George public school and Sault Collegiate Institute. A lifelong member of St. Luke’s Anglican Church, she served in many capacities there. She was an active member of the Sault Duplicate Bridge Club and a Life Master. Diane retired from Algoma Steel after many years in administration which included time at Dominion Bridge. After retirement she and Leo travelled extensively. Diane will be sadly missed by all of her family.
Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. 705-759-2522) on Friday, January 3, 2025 from 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm. A Memorial service will follow at St. Luke's Cathedral at 3:00 pm. with an urn committal to follow in the Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to Alzheimer’s Society or St. Luke's Cathedral (please write in memo: In memory of Diane LaRue) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
