THOMAS, Lloyd - It is with broken hearts, but a lifetime of beautiful memories that we announce the passing of our amazing dad/papa who left us on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 78 after a brief but aggressive two month battle with Glioblastoma.
While our time saying goodbye felt far too short, we find immense comfort knowing he spent his final weeks surrounded by peace and exceptional care at Algoma Residential Community Hospice.
Dad was a man whose world revolved around his family. On December 23, 2023, he lost the love of his life, our mom; his heart never truly healed from that profound loss and though we miss him desperately, we take comfort in knowing they are finally reunited, their hearts whole once again.
To know our dad was to know a man of immeasurable love and integrity, especially when it came to his four grandchildren, they were without a doubt the apple of his eye. He poured every ounce of his pride join and devotion into them leaving behind a legacy of love that will guide them forever. We are a fiercely close family and the bond he created within us will keep us strong in the days ahead. He will be deeply missed but never, ever forgotten.
Lloyd is now reunited with his bride and soulmate, Louise Thomas (nee Guzzo). Predeceased by his infant son, Mark Anthony. Special daddo of Shawna Lee Wilson (Darren), the late Trevor Lloyd and Trina Louise Avery (Brent). Proud Papa of Connor and Taylor Wilson, Owen and Greyson Avery. Special "Papa" to many.
Predeceased by his parents, Ivan and Edith Thomas.
Dear brother of late Irene (late Gord), late Joyce (late Mike), late George (Bev), late Reg (Marion), late Betty (late George), late Bud, late Billy, Evelyn (Leo), Larry (Anne). Son-in-law to the late Rose and Louis Guzzo. Brother-in-law to the late Joan Reed (late Herb), the late Diane Guzzo, Shirley Whalen (John), late Louis Guzzo Jr. (late Sharon), the late Dennis Guzzo, late Penny Roussain, Wendy Guzzo, Pamela McGonegal (Brad) and Gail Guzzo. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the incredible staff at A.R.C.H. for their care and compassion as well as the staff from CarePartners and nurses from Bayshore who assisted at home. Also, Shawna and Trina would like to send a special thank you to our fill in Mom, our Auntie Pam for being by our side every step of the way. To Brad, Terry Lynn and countless others as well. We love you.
A Celebration of Life in Lloyd's honour will announced in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
