It is with broken hearts, and deep gratitude for a life so well lived, that the family of Mario Celetti announces his passing on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 24, 1937, Mario lived a life defined by love, generosity, and unwavering devotion to his family. He was born to the late Pasquale and Margaret Celetti. He was predeceased by his siblings Paul, Mario, John, Olga Williams, Tony, Albert, Joe, and Rosalie Lederer.
After 41 days apart from the love of his life, the late Wanda Celetti, his beloved wife of 67 years, Mario has now reunited with her, just as she promised she would be waiting for him at the pearly gates. Their love story was one of enduring devotion, built on laughter, and a lifetime of memories.
Mario leaves behind a family who adored him: his children Rocco Celetti (late Susan), Lee Ann Archibald (late Rick), Tim Celetti (Shannon), Chris Celetti (Jill), and Clint Celetti (Patrice). He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a cherished great-grandfather to 11 great-grandchildren. His greatest legacy is the close-knit, loving family he and Wanda built together.
Mario was a man of quiet strength, and boundless generosity. He gave freely of his time, laughter, and love. He found great joy in fishing and hunting with family and friends, where stories were shared, and memories were made. He also loved gathering around the kitchen table, where family, food, laughter, and his familiar reminder to make sure there was enough salt in the water became some of life’s richest moments.
Sincere appreciation is extended to the late Pat and Peter Nobel for their lifelong friendship with Mom and Dad. The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Sault Area Hospital for the compassionate care, kindness, and dignity shown to Mario in his final days. Your kind support will never be forgotten.
Mario will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Even in sorrow, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now where he longed to be — reunited with Wanda, together once more.
Friends and family are invited to a Visitation for Wanda and Mario on Saturday July, 25, 2026 at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St E, 705-759-2522) from 9:30 am until 11:30 am. A funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church at 12:00 pm. Officiated by Father Alex Saurianthadathil. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
