Mom had a zest for life and truly enjoyed the people around her. She was a friend to many. Mom loved outings. She liked getting dolled up for birthdays, graduations, weddings and banquets. She also loved music, dancing and making memories with family and friends.
Mom worked hard as a waitress for years until she and Gordie ventured out and became part owner/operators of the "Harmonic Tavern". When they decided to ease into retirement, they became superintendents at an apartment building for 11 years until full retirement.
Mom was a skilled bowler, and she enjoyed spending time travelling with her bowling team. Mom acquired many trophies. She also loved playing bingo and trying her luck at the casino. Travelling was another pleasure, whether heading to Louisiana, North Carolina, southern Ontario or travelling out west to visit family. On her travels, she was pleased to have visited Elvis' home "Graceland" and "Dollywood". Mom was delighted to have seen Cher in concert in Toronto and Dolly in concert in Sault Ste. Marie.
For the past 26 years, Mom looked forward to family gatherings at the cabin on the beach with lakefront views. Mom enjoyed playing cards, ring toss, feeding chippy, canoe races, Karaoke, star gazing, campfires, fireworks and sunsets. Above all, she loved her family and they all held a special place in her heart.
The family would like to thank Extendicare Van Daele Manor staff and Algoma Manor staff for their care and compassion given to our mother. Special thanks to Mark for his kindness.
Forever in our hearts, until we meet again.
