I'd like to leave an afterglow

I'd like the tears of those who grieve,

To dry before the sun

Of happy memories that I leave

When life is done.

The Lord is my Shepherd;

I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down

in green pastures;

He leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul;

He leadeth me in the paths of

righteousness for His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the

valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me;

Thou preparest a table before me in

the presence of mine enemies;

Thou anointest my head with oil,

my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall

follow me all the days of my life;

and I will dwell in the house of the

Lord forever.

When I must leave you

For a little while-

Please do not grieve

And shed wild tears

And hug your sorrow to you

Through the years,

But start out bravely

With a gallant smile;

And for my sake and

in my name live on

and do all things the same,

Feed not your loneliness

On empty days,

But fill each waking hour

In useful ways,

Reach out your hand

In comfort and in cheer

And I in turn will comfort you

And hold you near;

And never, never

Be afraid to die,

HICKS, Pauline (Pat) - Peacefully passed away with her loving family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, June 18, 2012 in her 84th year. Beloved wife and soul mate of the late Lloyd. Loving mother of George (Penny), Michael (Norma) and Mary (Lewis). Cherished grandma of Sarah Gartshore (Dan), Jessica Charette (Felix), Lloyd Hicks Jr. (C.J.), Joey Hicks (Amanda), Aaron Hicks (Jackie), Christopher Hicks (Rachel), Brandon Weston and Destiny Weston. Great grandma of 16. Dear sister of Mary Lessard and special niece and nephew Janet Anderson (Randy) and niece Sharon Lessard.
