Proud and devoted wife of the late Ted. Loving mother of Michelle Olive-Hayes (Logan), Ted (Sara), and the late Kylie-Rose. She was the proud grandmother of Quinn, Cole, and Luca.
Our mom became sick just a few months after our Dad passed. After spending 53 wonderful years together, they are now together for eternity, listening to their favourite songs and telling the best stories.
Rae was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Mona Dunn, and her parents-in-law, Jim and Bertha Olive. She was a cherished sister of the late Lesley Scherback (late Terry), Christine Dunn-Paci (Frank), Terri Dunn, Steve Dunn (Caterina), and Jeff Dunn (Liz), and a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was also a dear sister-in-law to Jimmy (late Sharon), Randee (late Colette), the late Roseanna MacGillivary (Ray), Teresa Belanger (Johnnie), Bev Fraser (late Al), Mike (Susan), and Billy (Dot).
Our mom was a beautiful person whose greatest priority in life was caring for others. She built a long and meaningful career alongside our Dad, but her favourite role was being a mom and grandma. She touched countless lives and filled those shoes not only for us, but for many of our friends and extended family as well. Her kindness, compassion, and quiet strength made everyone around her feel loved.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Rae's physicians, Dr. Xiao, Dr. Booth, and Dr. Sharpe, as well as the incredible nurses and staff on 3C, for the exceptional care and compassion they showed throughout her journey.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Bruce McLeish. A graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Rae left this world a better place through her love, generosity, and guidance. She will be missed more than words can say and remembered always for the beautiful life she gave us.
