CONNOR, Robert James – It is with much gratitude and sadness that we mourn Robert’s peaceful passing in the early hours of October 17, 2026. Gratitude for being a part of our lives, and sadness for passing away.
Rob had two families and two homes, one in Ontario and one in British Columbia. He leaves behind his sons, David (Colleen) and Lance, grandson Cody (Alicia), and great-grandchildren Elyjah and Aleighya. Rob leaves behind his best friend and love, Virginia “Ginny” Koftinoff. Loved nephew of Margaret “Bunny” Erickson. Foster son of Raymond and Audrey Beharriell, and foster brother of Arden, Roxanne and Darren. Stepfather of Natasha Wainwright and Jonathan Southwick.
Rob wore many hats throughout his life. He spent time working in many different fields such as Underwater Welding, Commercial Fisherman, and a Car Salesman to name a few. When he wasn’t working, you could find Rob on his motorcycle on the open road or playing guitar in his band Worn Britches. His skills of building, making and creativity allowed him to create a beautiful space for his loved ones.
In his mid-forties, Rob had made the move to British Columbia. It was during this time that his love expanded to include the Koftinoff family. Many adventures began with learning about the industry of harvesting natural products such as mushrooms during this time. He was overjoyed when his family from Ontario and British Columbia came together as one. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones whether it was playing music or barbequing.
After an unfortunate accident, Rob was left with the inability to speak or walk. He acquired a puppy, Jappy, who became his service dog. They were inseparable. During this difficult time, Rob eventually regained his abilities with the help of his beloved companion, Jappy.
As per Rob’s wishes, cremation has taken place. He has been laid to rest privately by family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie and District would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East; 705-759-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the family.
