Shirley Annie Bailey Meeks

It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley Bailey Meeks.

Shirley was the cherished wife of the late Russell Bailey and the late Chuck Meeks. She was a devoted mother of Jane Swan (Steven), Tim Bailey (Ranee), Laurie Orr, and Susan Hawkins (Ron).

She was a proud grandmother of Kristiena, Jenna, AJ, Lanae, Morgan, James, Bryce, and Kyra. Great-grandmother of five and one great-great-grandchild. Her family was always the centre of her world including her cat Precious.

Shirley owned her own ceramic business for many years, followed by a successful career in real estate. She was also an extremely talented artist. She constantly praised her maternal grandmother Annie Budge, for her Christian upbringing.

Shirley’s incredible sense of humour could light up a room. She will always be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love.

Shirley will be dearly missed and forever held in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of life to be held at the Royal Canadian Legion #374 (1534 10th Side Rd., Richards Landing) on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations (payable online or by cheque) may be made to St. Joseph Island - PSW Outreach Program, North Shore Health Network, Dr. Trefry Memorial Centre, or any charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
