Shirley May Syrette

Mom of Sheri Stuckenbrock and the late Mickey Monroe. Grandma of CJ and Tilly. Predeceased by her parents Winston and Vera Monroe. Sister of Gwen Christensen, Wendy MacGillivray (Glenn), Suzanne Finnigan (Edward) and the late Jim Monroe. Aunt of Ken Christensen, Anthony Christensen (Alison), Ellen Thompson (Darrin), Doug Monroe (Janice), Sandy Monroe, Ellen Monroe, Crystal Magrath and the late Calvin MacGillivray. Shirley will be missed by many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

From a young age Shirley had a hard health battle, but she lived life to its fullest. Shirley moved to Oregon later where she discovered her love of the ocean. She would go crab fishing with her son Mickey, but health issues sent her back to British Columbia. After she decided to move to Sault Ste. Marie to be closer to her daughter Sheri and her granddaughters. CJ and Tilly meant everything to Shirley and she would do anything for them. If you knew Shirley, then you knew of her zest for life, and nothing ever slowed her down. She had a great sense of humour and enjoyed all of life's joys.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522) on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 11 am until 12 pm. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Syrette family.
